Hi, I’m Nsovo Shimange, the founder and lead travel planner at Shimmy’s Travel Agency. My love for travel has taken me to 17 different countries, and I continue to explore new places every year. Shimmy’s Travel Agency began somewhat by accident, but with a story I love to share. My friend Earl needed help planning a trip to Singapore, and I eagerly took on the challenge, creating a personalized itinerary that was tailored to his preferences. After sending him an email with the details, I signed it off as “From Shimmy’s Travel Agency” as a joke. To my surprise, the name stuck, and it made me realize something important—I have a natural talent for creating customized travel experiences that avoid the usual touristy traps and focus on what truly matters to each individual traveler.

I offer my travel planning services at no upfront cost. Instead, I earn a commission from the travel service providers (hotels, airlines, tours, etc.) whenever bookings are made through me. This allows me to offer expert, personalized planning without additional fees for you. The prices you pay are the same (or sometimes better) than what you’d find by booking directly.
What services do you offer?
I provide end-to-end travel planning. This includes creating customised itineraries based on your preferences, researching and booking flights, accommodations, local experiences, and transportation. Additionally, I offer premium on-trip support where I’m available to assist if any issues arise. You’ll get a completely tailored trip without lifting a finger.
Are there any hidden costs?
No, there are no hidden fees. I’m transparent about my earnings, which come solely from the commissions provided by the travel suppliers. You won’t be charged anything beyond the actual cost of your bookings, and I’ll always ensure that I find the best available rates for your trip.
Can I make changes to my trip once it’s booked?
Absolutely. I understand that plans can change. Depending on the policies of the providers I’ve booked through, I can help you modify your itinerary, whether it’s changing flight times, accommodations, or activity bookings. Note that some changes may incur fees depending on the terms of the providers.
How long does the travel planning process take?
The full process usually takes 7–10 days:
- Day 1–2: Initial consultation where we discuss your preferences, budget, and travel goals.
- Day 3–5: I research and create a detailed itinerary, including accommodation, transportation, and activities.
- Day 6–7: We review the itinerary together, and I make any requested changes.
- Final Step: Once you’re happy with the plan, I’ll handle all bookings and send you confirmations. Complex trips may take slightly longer, but you’ll be updated regularly.
Do you plan trips for groups or corporate events?
Yes, I plan trips for various groups, including families, friends, and corporate teams. Whether it’s a destination wedding, a corporate retreat, or a large family vacation, I can manage all logistics, ensuring that everyone’s preferences are accounted for and that the trip is seamless for the entire group.
What if something goes wrong during the trip?
If you’ve opted for the premium support package, I’m available via phone or messaging for the duration of your trip. This means I can help you rebook flights, adjust reservations, or recommend alternative plans if anything unexpected happens. If you haven’t opted for the premium support, I’ll still offer advice, but you would need to handle the logistics yourself.
Do you specialise in certain types of travel?
While I’m happy to plan any type of travel, I specialize in bespoke travel experiences such as luxury vacations, adventure travel, cultural explorations, and off-the-beaten-path experiences. My personal travel experience and knowledge help me curate unique trips that go beyond the typical tourist itinerary.
What happens if I don’t book through you?
I’m happy to create a detailed itinerary even if you decide to handle the bookings yourself. However, since my earnings come from commissions, there would be a flat fee for planning services if you choose not to book through me. This fee will depend on the complexity of your trip and can be discussed during the consultation.
